Intro:
As always, I really appreciate you subscribing to The Peak Weekly and taking a little time out of your day to read through the email.
It’s been an unusually action-packed few weeks here.
I don’t usually include images or photos in these emails. But today you get a brief little photo dump of my last few weeks 📸 (just scroll past it if you’re not interested and want to get straight to the good stuff)
Two weekends ago, we visited my mom down in Charleston, SC. And then last weekend, we spend a few days in Charlotte.
If you’ve been a subscriber for a while, you know that I love bees. In fact, my own personal colony of bees arrives next month!
So, naturally, while in the Charleston area, we made a visit to the 🐝 Bee City Zoo!
Well…they didn’t have any bees lol (they all swarmed due to recent weather) but they did have a bunch of other cool animals. And I got to take this photo in a giant chair (this is a teaser photo for my upcoming picture in a bee suit)…

While in Charlotte, we visited the Sullenberger Aviation Museum. If you’re in to that sort of thing, it was super cool. We got to see the actual “Miracle on the Hudson” plane and a lot of other really cool aircraft. Even got to sit in the cockpit of a few planes and fighter jets. It’s awesome ✈️
Photo of me repping the Apex Outfitters tee and pretending to be a pilot:

Shout out to all of my kids who pretended like they also thought it was cool and only made fun of me a little bit for nerding out over the old planes:

Feels good to be back home in Apex, though. There’s no place like The Peak!
This week, my sister and her family are in town visiting from Indy. So we’ve had a lot of fun showing them around town and catching up.
With that said, I’ve been on a little bit of a time crunch getting this week’s email together, but hopefully it doesn’t disappoint.
This week, the big news is of course the Peak City Pig Fest. But also a lot of other cool stuff going on like the Boutique Crawl, The Studio’s Garden Party celebrating their 1-year anniversary (go see them if you haven’t - they are cool people 😎 ), Vinyl Night at Southern Peak which sounds awesome (I’ll be there!) - and a lot more!
And, of course, don’t forget the Farmer’s Market is now on its spring schedule starting at 8am.
We’re headed to Wilmington on Saturday with my sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew… so I’ll be missing it for the 3rd week in a row. But we’ll be there next Saturday and someone better have a shopping cart ready for me because I need to stock up!
Enjoy your week and please reach out to me if you have any ideas for next week’s newsletter. I sincerely appreciate you 🫶

Civil News:
🚰 1.5 Million Gallons of Water
The Town’s 4th water tower is currently under construction. It’s 219 feet tall and holds 1.5M gallons. Random fact because I was curious: the average person drinks 10,000 - 15,000 gallons of water in their lifetime. It would take you 1,000 lifetimes to drink all the water in the new tower. Anyway, check it out here.
🏠️ Tunstall House Update
While the bidding process on the Tunstall House hit a bit of a reset, we still need to figure out just exactly how the Tunstall House can be used. Personally, I think it should be a Peak Weekly office building. See some other ideas and share your ideas here.
