Intro
We did it. We survived the winter!
Happy Spring!!
I’ve had a long, busy week with work. Plus, working on my new garden and prepping for my bees…
I usually start working on this newsletter by Monday at the latest. This week…I am starting Wednesday evening 😬
So, it’s going to be a late night. I’m a little tired. If this week’s newsletter is a little less exciting than usual, or if you find any typos or if I missed anything, please forgive me. But I will do my best!
And then I’ll make up for it next week with some cool new stuff :)
I hope all of you are doing well. I think I owe a few of you a return email and/or some feedback into ideas you have passed my way. I’ll get caught up on all of that this coming week!
Thank you so much for taking the time each week to read this. It’s been a lot of fun and I’m truly grateful for your support.
Oh, one other thing I wanted to mention… I was invited over to Town Hall on Monday to meet with Jimmy and Brianne with the Community Engagement Division. Super nice people and very passionate about their roles in doing exactly that - engaging with us as a community. It was really cool to connect with them and create that partnership to help spread the word on the cool things they are doing.
They have a lot of really neat things going on and if you have a minute, learn more about them here.

Miscellaneous:
💭 Think Apex Day
Registration is now open for Think Apex Day - our town’s annual day of community service. This year, there are eight opportunities to give back to the community.
🏬 The Henley Apartments
Work has began on a 370-unit apartment complex near Beaver Creek. Expected completion by late 2026 and will have one, two, and three-bedroom apartments ranging from $1k-$4k/mo.
🪪 Are You Even Real?
Reminder: you’ll need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or ID card to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities beginning May 7, 2025.
🪖 Military Appreciation Month
House Bill 35 passed the House with a 118-0 vote which would officially recognize November as Military Appreciation Month. The vote is now headed to the state Senate.
🍫 Dubai Chocolate
So, Dubai Chocolate Bars went viral recently. If you’re in to that sort of thing, they have them at Common Grounds. But if I were you, I’d grab the blueberry white chocolate chip cookie from there. I’m not a cookie person but it might be the single greatest thing ever made.

Spotlight:
No theme this week… so just want to shout out an awesome local business that I love.
Rudy’s Pub & Grill
780 W Williams St.
On the other side of Apex Peakway from JD’s Tavern (who I previously highlighted and love) is a fairly similar pub, Rudy’s. Consistently great food and service.
I always get the 🥩 Steak N Fries. I swear most steak houses don’t even cook Medium Rare correctly (always overcooked), but whoever is in that kitchen at Rudy’s nails it every time.
And then you have to get the KBO sauce to dip your fries. It’s a wing sauce but it’s amazing on everything.
Plus, they have all day brunch on the weekends and open at 8:30am. The food is great and the Bloody Mary’s are top notch.
And if that’s not enough - trivia every Tuesday at 8pm, music bingo every Wednesday at 7:30, poker every Thursday & Sunday, karaoke every Saturday. And, the one and only, 🪄 Dan the Magic Man every Thursday from 6-8pm.
Stop in and tell them Adam sent you! They’ll have no idea what that means.
By the way - thank you to all of you that took my recommendation to go see Farmer Ian (McGibney Farms) at the Farmer’s Market a few weeks back, and for telling him that the newsletter sent you. When I spoke with him the following week, he was udderly 🐄 confused. But then I showed him the newsletter and he was very appreciative :)
