Nothing You Need to Know
Here is nothing you need to know about what's going on in Apex, NC for the week of Thursday, October 29, 2026.
👋 Good Morning, Apex! Today is Thursday, October 29, 2026 and this is a preview to the 95th weekly issue of The Peak Weekly.
This email newsletter always starts out with “…everything you need to know for the week of…”
Well today, I have nothing you need to know.
Yesterday at noon, my daughter and I checked into WakeMed Apex. She was having some stomach pains.
Around 4pm, they diagnosed her with Appendicitis and sent us off to WakeMed Children’s in Raleigh.
If you recall - this exact scenario played out just 55 days ago with my son.
I expected the rest of it to play out the same way and around 9:30pm last night, I posted on Facebook & Instagram that it was going to be a late night, but I’d make sure to still get the newsletter out on time.
Unfortunately, that’s not how the rest played out.
Sadly, the Children’s ER was packed. Things moved a bit slow, understandably, and around Midnight we were informed that they would just keep the appendix at bay with some antibiotics over night and then the surgeon would be in around 7 or 8 in the morning to get things started.
Mrs. Weekly just had her second chemo infusion on Monday so she’s resting and staying as far away from hospital germs as possible.
So it looks like me and my daughter are having a sleepover at the hospital.
Here is what they offered to me for the overnight accommodations.

It’s currently 2am as I type this up from my phone. Should be a fun next several hours.
I’m very sorry. Peak Weekly #95 will arrive Friday morning.
Thank you for understanding!
